This is the Tamiya kit with all four of the Blast Models sets for OIF Humvees, Eduard PE, Tamiya Modern US Equipment set, and a Pro Art SINCGARS radio. In this first set of pictures, I have the kit radio in place, but was informed that it is incorrect for an OIF vehicle and have since replaced it.

Here are the four seats detailed with PE.

After seeing James Tainton's wonderful soldering work here I was inspired to try to do a little bit during the course of this project. This is the driver's station. The gas pedal was soldered to the copper wire.

Here are some shots of the interior before and after weathering. The before pics are a bit on the bright side.

Over the weekend I was able to apply the NATO tri-color camo to the HMMWV. I used the Tamiya NATO colors for this and am pretty happy with the results (especially considering that this is the first time I attempted camo freehand). In the pictures the sand color hasn't been applied yet, but last night I got that pretty much done. It's almost time for detail painting!

One question I have is what color would the rack on the rear be? I know that this isn't standard (at least I'm pretty sure) equipment so it wouldn't be camo, but would it be green, sand, black, or naked metal?

Here is where I am at as of last night. I've gotten some of the details painted, but certainly not all of them. The hood, rear roof stowage, gun ring, and guns are all just lying in place and have not been glued down yet.

Dude,

I think you may be in line for some prizes as you seem to be the only one making progress on their Expo entry!

Fine looking model thus far, you hit the camo dead on.

Well, I just took a GIANT step backward yesterday with the HMMWV. I was getting ready to go to my model club meeting and managed to drop the container with the HMMWV in it.

Here are the results:

I plan to at least attempt to fix it, but to do so I will have to get a couple of replacement parts from Blast Models who are currently on vacation from August 7 - August 21 so who know when I will be able to seriously begin to repair the damage.
