Stug III Ausf. B - 1:48 Tamiya + PE

Hello!

This is my first 1:48 model. I decided to upgrade it with Aber PE fenders and basic set. Also will change the tracks for Friulmodel because Tamiya provided inappropriate model of trucks with full teeth for this early Stug. I started the work from soldering the fenders. Here is some SBS photos.

I use ceramic plate, KOKI soldering paste, gas torch, 'TAC' and clamp tweezers.

I place the bent element of the bracket in the clamp tweezers, the tweezers in the handle and I settle the wire (imitating rod) in to ball of 'TAC'. I establish the 90* angle and put on the drop of the soldering paste.

Next i solder it together with gas torch.

Done!

Then I put on the drops of the paste under the elements of joining.

I lie down small elements on the drops of the paste gently and level so as they should be.

The next layer of the paste which will connect elements with the rod of the girder.

I gently put earlier made element on place.

I squeeze the whole with the clamp tweezers.

It's better to place the element of the bracket in the ball of the 'TAC' to protect him before fall away during soldering.

We have strong joining after the second.

The soldered on girder.

I cut off the rod under proper angle.

And polish with file.

Top stuff Serg (can I/we call you Serg, Sergiusz?), looks great. I'm having a hard time with 1/35 and you are working so well in 1/48 .

Life's so very funny, you just need to remember to laugh [note to the clowns].

Why would the clowns not let people into the tent? What's the point of the show if they don't? .

Great stuff Sergiusz,

that Torch seems a whole lot handier than my wired soldering iron. And I think that paste might be worth a try as well.
The result looks fine in any case.

Серёжка (можно?) you make me laugh. At the same time, you and Krzystof and Robert are fiendish Poles who make me want to build better models than I would without you. Dziękują bardzo, from a Canadian, who cannot speak Polish. Могу по-русски, да это совсем другое дело.

Nah, late, holiday, zbyt wiele cognac, but Happy New Year, you poor sot, suffering with parts that are too small! What you have done here so far is great. I'm gonna annoy some people when I say that I think Poland has perhaps the best modellers in the world!

Pozdrav,
Scott Fraser

Hello,

Great SBS about soldering - now I know that I MUST buy that torch and paste

As always, I can't wait to see it painted.

Best regards and happy new year!

Yes it is much handier then wired soldering iron. If you wont it for conventional work it has got changeable tips The paste is wonderful! You use it just like ordinary glue while applying.
