Wink Tristar Fieseler Storch Fi 156

Yes I know it's an aircraft, but it worked closely with armoured forces and there is some precedence on PA:

Once again, model is courtesy of C.K. Pat.

The boxart is really nice, and this is the biggest kit tristar has shipped to date:

Instructions:

Decals:

There appear to be more decal option than there are schemes in the instructions. Nice, but I wish I knew what they were.

Sprues. I was surprised at how few parts there were in the box, I guess I'm used to armour kits. Detail looks really nice and there is less flash than there has been on other recent tristar kits.

The wheel struts have metal rods moulded in to increase the strength.

There are two sets of clear parts included. The first is just a normal sprue, and the second has prepainted parts. While not perfect, this is the best attempt I've seen. (Academy and Hasegawa come to mind for making some really awful ones) A few of the lines are soft and in a few places the paint is chipped, but overall, the canopy is usable if you aren't too picky. I'll probably mask my own as I am that picky.

I'm going to hold off starting this one for a while. I want to finish the Bergepanzer III and the Marder III H.

To be honest, this kit kinda scares me. I haven't built an aircraft in a year and a half and that one was 1/72 scale. The canopy, the struts, and the wing-to-canopy connection looks really really scary. The model is pretty big and I'm wondering how the wheels, etc, will stand up to the weight.

Yea Fletcher, I saw the blog conversation between you guys but was too busy to reply...I'm glad that you are doing this.

I know what you mean about being hesitant working on an aircraft, I haven't done one in years either, perhaps it's about time.

Anyway, I know that you've got the other projects to finish, but I'm totally looking forward to this one, so hurry up!

Rick

I'm sure it will be an unbiased, objective sober review/build.
Look forward to you shining some light on the kit.

Oh, of course! That's why I say that, 1) to thank him, and 2) to let people know to take my build/reviews with a grain of salt.

I might do a few steps, but nothing major.

LOL, looks like she'd take up a bit of shelf space. Has Tristar run out of things to produce or is this something that there will be a genuine demand for? As for big 1:35 kits I'm hanging out for S-boots (which is as long as a K5 railgun ).
