7,5 cm Stu.Kan. auf Pz.Kpfw.38(t)

Heya all!

My H39 is making some nice progress, but while working on the interior parts I decided to start a new long time playground.
After modelling some kits, I now feel myself experienced enough to tackle a new challenge.
This one is going to be my first diorama, and I will also put my hands on my first figures ever.

The subject of choice is the new 7,5 cm Stu.Kan. auf Pz.Kpfw.38(t) from Dragon Cyberhobby.
I don’t know why, but I like this ugly hunter.

Although it was only a paper panzer I will settle this diorama during the end of the war.
Plans to build this vehicle came up 1942 and my fictional scene shows one
of the few 42er prototypes pushed into battle to stop the advancing Russian troops.

Here is the ugly bastard (excuse the bad pictures- I will post better ones soon):



I started my work on the nice Plus model ruin and engraved the backside of the walls.



A quick first set up to plan the scene. The 38(t) is used as dummy.




I will post some better pictures tomorrow,
any advices are highly appreciated.

Small update:

I used my lunch brake and painted some quick strokes over the last picture.
Maybe I will make some more concepts and try some other scenes.
Any ideas for improvment?

I'm also undecided wich figures I will use. The Dragon, Last battle (Austria) is nice, maybe the vehicle is knocked out?

Great scene Manuel! I think knocked out vehicle is what you need. It'll create the atmosphere of last days of war.

Nice dio you have there. You could put there some US (armored infantry from DML?) or Russian soldiers instead of germans. I'm sure that they would be curious seeing such a unusual vehicle.

Are you going to convert the wooden superstructure to a production one? You could add bolts/rivets along the edges and some crew personal gears like gas mask cannisters, MP40s, water canteens etc..

Thanks guys,

The idea use non-German figures is great! So, I’m going to build a knocked out vehicle, left alone during streetfights.
Which “grade” of knock out I will decide during the build.

These are the extra parts for the cyberhobby kit. The gun is the one from the Stug G kit:

The results of the last 2 days- managed to made good progress…



Some of the interior parts- as I want to build a diorama I’m happy with the details here. If this kit would be a standalone model I would wait for the Tristar interior set….


Not the best solution her:



I dry fitted the upper armor and discovered some fit problems. The fender support in the middle causes problems. But no problem, it’s a paper panzer and I will find an easy solution.
