This has been floating around for a while now and canada is apparently buying some 2A6(M?) to deploy as well. Much as it makes me a horrible person I'm excited to see what the Leo can really do. I'm going to have to go buy a bunch more kits :P

It seems that they will borrow some from Germany. Probably they will replace the - 17 i belive - Leopards C2 that are already operating in A-stan.
Anyway, this Danish beast it's just so gorgeous!
Cheers!

Thanks for posting the pics I haven't seen this camo before and it looks good.
I like the look of the extra armor on the hull front and the track grousers on the rear of the turret.
Rod
Does the HobbyBoss kit have the extra armor?

Basically, it's hotter than a snake's ass in a wagon rut.

No worries Lawrence .
Hope the plastic kit comes with the extra armor, then it will be possible to represent this Danish Leos 2 A6M... don't know if im mistaken, but they are unique, since German Leos 2 A6 don't have this up armored hull.

Hi Paulo
Looks like the Hobby Boss kit does come with the add-on armor and the track grousers at the rear of the turret.
Here's a build review in German but it looks like it does have it share of problem areas.
I have built the Italeri Leopard 2A5 and you can build a Danish leopard but it does not have the add-on armor. The Italeri kit is actually based of a prototype?
Now I really want to build this cat!

I was looking at the leftovers from my Striv and I reckon there's enough to do a DK conversion on Tamiya's Leo2 with a little scratching. Hmmmm I see another big cat in my future

I'm not sure quite what you are expecting ? Certainly no tank on tank conflicts, this is the Taliban we are talking about here. Personally such heavy weight armor seems overkill against what are gorilla fighters who tend to use hit and run / ambush tactics.
Interesting pics anyway and thanks for posting them.
Just as a sided question, there's a design detail on this tank which like some other simiar ones puzzles me. The front of the turret has a nice pointed edge to it mid height with the bottom section sloping nicely down in to the turret ring. Any projectile hitting that area has nowhere else to go but straight in to that "trap", and what must be a very vulnerable spot on the tank. Why design with that shape

Thanks for the heads up, Lawrence. I think the kit would just need some minor updates like the MG mount, that two tubes in the back (update to the air con system?)...
About the Italeri kit... maybe they are based in the firsts A5 broutgh from Germany and prior to be a "DK version"?
