Dragon 1/72 T-

Started on another project. This time my victim is a 72nd scale T-34-76 model 1941 from Dragon.

First thing I did was to drill out holes in the wheels. Not my greatest drilling job, but it looks better than with holes plugged.

Now I am reworking the body.

Stay tuned

Good to see a 1/72 build and a T-34 to boot. It's strange that the wheels were not molded with the holes drilled out. Can't have been that difficult to add it in during the master mold making.

Thank you guys. I am not 100% happy with the holes because some of them came out more egg shaped than round.

Finished working on the body this weekend.
Reworked rear fenders

Removed front fenders, filled in the gaps and added grab handles

Added welds (on both sides)

All is left is to add the rear fuel tanks and I can start on the turret next.

Finished the turret. I made a few changes to it. First of all I went with the “other” hatch. Dragon’s instructions say to use different turret hatch (part #G8) and disregard the correct one (part #G11). My reference pictures for T-34 in Polish service shows that the throw away hatch is the correct one. Anyway, next I replaced lift eyes with metal ones, replaced gun barrel with metal barrel from Aber and added wire grab handles.

Here’s what the turret and the body look like together.

Off to the spray booth we go….
