DML 1/35 Panther G Smart Kit questions

After survivng the bureaucratic nightmare that is the Deutsche Post Zollamt, my kit has arrived from Hobby Link Japan. Eager as ever to start, I have a few questions first.

Is there any suitable photo etch out there besides the Cyber Hobby update set?

What refererences did people use for the superb builds that are here on the Planet?

Did any of the chin mantlet variants ever turn up in the diagonal white wash/ 3 tone camo? (I forgot the proper term for it, but you know the one I mean, around 60% whitewash)
