1:48 Tamiya Panzer III L

Hi!

So this is my first true SBS. I chose this little kit because I wanted something that could be built fast.
I would also like some feedback on my pictures, because I haven't gotten used to my new camera yet.

So here I have glued all the parts to the metal hull.

After attaching the back plate there remain two gaps but those are esy to fill with some CA.

And now a try fit of the upper and lower part. The gap in the front will disappear after they have been finally attached.

More soon..

Siim

In the beginning of attaching the tracks I ran into this problem, so it needed a bit of surgery.

EDIT: I now realised that I had glued thease things on the wrong way. Sadly I can't do anything about it now.

So the tracks are on:

They fit very well.

On goes the upper hull. Two screws, as simple as that.

I have added a lot of glue to the front where the upper and lower hull meet. This area will need sanding down.

All this you have just seen was completed last night in about 4 hours. This kit rocked so much that I went to bead 4:00 in the night just because it was so much fun to build. I think I will get another one.

Siim

Hopefully more pictures in the evening.

Siim,

Nice clean build and the photos look fine. The shock absorbers are upside down as you mentioned. They are very notiecable and I would suggest you turn them around if you can. If you used CA glue then apply some lateral force to help it break the bond. The good thing in this case is that the hull is not plastic otherwise the absorber would have "melted" to the hull.

Nice build but as mentioned you really need to fix those shocks. Some CA debonder should probably help with that.

Thanks guys.
Lawrence, I managed to rip off one from each side and turn them around. Since I had allready cut them down to fit the track, they don't look good, but I hope I will be able to cover them up somehow.

Here is to lower hull finished.

I added the antenna from stretched sprue.

And here it is, ready for paint.

The barrel is like that, because I had a hard time fitting the small part to the end of the barrel so I put it on a dremel and started sanding but I accidentallly broke the barrel. It is now OK and the putty has been sanded down.

Looks like your panzer has been though the "wars" before even getting off the production line.

That's a fast build. Is it ready for paint?

Yes, it is ready for paint. I wanted to paint it last night but since I live in a apartment building letting the compressor roar for one hour at 11 pm will cause me certain disagreements with the neighbours.
