Hi all
This is going to be my first US modern AFV.
Here is the box art
And the bottom of the box showing all the details
Now the sprues. The kit is in light grey plastic but my camera white balance makes it yellow. Here are the driver's hatch (2 types), engine panels and radiator grills.
Roadwheels and suspension arms
Of course the turret. The turret has anti skid molded on.
Upper hull with separate engine panels
Parts for the turret
Smoke dischargers, CIP Panels
Two types of blow off panels and cupola
Turret basket
Metal barrel
Transparent parts
Photo etch parts
CIP Panel stickers
Ration boxes
Decals
More decals
Magic tracks
MG set

Basically, it's hotter than a snake's ass in a wagon rut.

Can't wait to get started! This is my first M1A1 and I didn't realise it was that big!
The turret alone is the size of a T-70!
The anti skid panels and the weld seams are very well done. Now if only DML would fix the weld seams on the Shermans.
The main thing is that the huge turret protects the crew.

Now we are only missing a nice t-90 welded turret.... I know a certain russian resin company will launch a conversion set for Tamiya´s t-72, but that will be very expensive (50 turret + 50 front hull + 25 wheels + 30 new design tracks)
Nice t-70 by the way... how does Eduard set work? I have seen Part also makes one.
Regards,
Antonio

Tell me about it! There's just so many nice kits out there and so little time. The next build after this definitely going to German AFV.

By the way, thanks for the info on Barcelona. I visited Jordi Rubio but got there too early - like 4pm. They only opened at 5pm! Didn't buy anything as the prices are way expensive - think it's got to do with local taxes. Visited Montjuic and took heaps of photos of the 88mm gun and the PAK 40. I will post them a bit later.
Who makes the T-90 updates? The prices are really steep.
The Eduard PE is quite basic. I got it because the mesh in the kit is molded solid. I didn't know Part has a PE set as well. What does it look like?

They are from Miniarm. They have done just the t-72bm that is the same as the early t-90, as this one was the same with a new name ir order to sound better in export market after Gulf War. You can go to hobbyeasy internet page, look for Miniarm products and, selecting the option showing out-of stock items, find the t-72bm. Hobbyeasy is the cheaper place around, but the first place where it finished  American prices -Model Point, Mission Models are the ones in my post, more expensive as in Hobbyeasy. If you want to pay that much, Rainbow Ten has the conversion in stock
I mailed Miniarm and exchange several words with Igor. He told me that in september they will launch some other items, including a t-90s with the Shtora system. When I asked hin how he was going to replicate the tinny "fingers" I was amazed as seeing a picture of what he has been able to do with resin. It will be a 2003 welded turret.
As for prices in Spain, VAT is only 16%, tha same as in Germany for example. The main proble is the dealer. We could say that only european products are worth buying for someone from Asia, specially from Hong Kong, the "Mecca" of plastic modellers. Mig could be a bit cheaper, or Baluard or Nimix resin products.
As for Part, you can see it in Jadar, they don´t charge taxes and have a good service. Perhaps for Polish material is a good place. Aber may not be so easy to find there whee you are
