Looking good Jan.

The trick (I think) with whitewash, is to make it off white to give it body. If you add some brown into the mix it may take the starkness away, and once you've added the mud it will look the part.

Willy.

Hey Jan,
your 251 looks pretty good to me. I would try moving on to dirtying up the running gear and tracks. Once you get that weathering done and toned down its all blended together a little I think it will be pretty nice. I also find that if I'm stuck on something, it helps to move on to a new part of the model.

Looks nice! I like whitewash. Bit dirty shade to it and it's even better.

Cheers Mikko

Nice winter finish and some wet mud with splatters will finish up the kit nicely

D I: Because a woman has the right to choose who she has sex with.
B: [stunned] WHAT...? You joke?
D I: It must be consentual. How 'bout that?
B: [turns to instructor, pauses] Ahahahahaha!
D I: That's good, huh?
B: [pause] Is not good for me

Thanks for your comments, much appreciated
I'm not sure on the setting of my dio yet, so i'm not starting to make the suspension muddy (yet).
I'll be working on the T-70 until i get a book on Charkov i ordered earlier this week, and find a definate dio idea. Until it arrives this one will be on hold
Cheers, Jan

I decided to leave the T-70 on it's base (since it did well by itself ) and finish the 251 with a small base and some figures.
I'll start again tonight

Jan,

Your 251 is looking great, and I agree with Willy about the off white. It should have some color to it, very sublte, to take away the starkness. That's what figure painters do and it looks great. It should make all the difference.

Keep it coming.

Larry
