Hi !

My first post here, not the last one probably...

First of all, sorry for my poor english !
I'm a french modeler, and it's rather difficult for me to write too much text in your language...

I wanted to present you the assembly of my Pz IV Ausf.E 3in1 Dragon.

But may be are you bored with Panzer IV ???

As I have already said it, the very good post of James -alias Panzerfaust- for the same kit on Planet Armor, was for me an immense source of inspiration and motivation!
Thank you once again James!

I just post here a little selection of photos.
But, here are the links towards my complete "in progress" building, with many more photos (more than 200 this day) :

Note that this Pz IV is far from finished !...

During this step by step building, I also present in detail the new Vorpanzer and all of its improvements, and several photo-etched sets to upgrade these Pz IV Ausf.E kits (2 x Voyager, 1 x Lion Roar).

Sorry, it's a french forum ("Les Colleurs de plastique" means # "Those who glue plastic"), and texts are of course in french...
May be it will be sometimes difficult to you to translate or to understand some slangy expressions ("french jargon") or the french humor...
I hope that you can appreciate nevertheless!

Let's go to a little selection of photos :

Are you kidding- I'm starting my second Tristar Panzer IV/D, and the DML VorPanzer IV as well....and maybe the Tristar Panzer IV/C ta' boot!
Nice work- good presentation if somewhat overwhelming Keep us posted on your progress-I'm quite impressed with the turret revisions. Also kinda curious about the Voyager set.

Bruno,

Very nice work! And welcome to the planet. Bored with PIV's? Nope

Welcome and looks great! Can I ask why you are fixing the turret front, but not the drive sprocket position, to me the position of the drive sprocket is much more apparent in the finished kits than the turret front. Just a question.

Cheers!

Hi Bruno
Welcome to the Planet from me too!
Very nice build very informative and good clear pictures, just let the pictures comming, I have seen that your French parallel site has a lot of pictures and a lot of French humor in it, my French is not so good to understand it all, but very educational

Thanks to everybody for your kind words and your warm welcome !

Well, apparently nobody's bored with panzer IV on Planet Armor...
That's fine !

Some among you even ask for more of it, still and still !
Good courage and good luck, James!
(Yes, I was kidding !)

John, I agree with you !
But I thought :
-1) according to some photos, that the position of the final drive housing was OK on the kit.

We may see, indeed, that the housing is tangential to the bottom of the lower hull, on the photo and on the kit too.

-2) that to change the Dragon return rollers by those of the Tristar set, smaller in diameter, would be enough.
It was a few better, but not sufficient at all !...

On the new Vorpanzer, Dragon made several changes :
- wheel drive larger in diameter (and with the bolts position corrected) ;
- return rollers smaller in diameter (equal at those of the Tristar set) ;
- position of the wheel drive higher on the hull. It's not tangential any more with the bottom of the hull...
I believe that it was not the right way (probably rather problems of dimensions / stackings of dimensions), but the result is now OK...

I planned to try to correct all that, and the design of the glacis plate too (part B31 : wrong hatch positions).

In fact, I decided to "super-detail" and correct the best I can the 3in1...
...and to build the Vorpanzer strictly OOTB. To rest me !

PS : Thanks Dan ! Don't worry for your french : I'm afraid that many things remain totally incomprehensible ! (Private jokes, etc...) Even sometimes between us !!!
