Hi – just got my vBench setup so I should probably post something in it, so I guess I will introduce myself and show you some pictures of the real workbench!

Typical model history: Been building models since I was a little kid – lost interest when I was a teenager. Now I’m 10 years out of college and getting back into the hobby. I started back in about 2-3 years ago when I picked up a copy of Military Miniatures in Review in a local hobby shop. Wow! PE, turned metal barrels, resin, Dragon, etc! I dumped most of my collection of unbuilt models that I still had from childhood on eBay and started buying newer stuff. Found I had discovered a new hobby along with my old one. I now spend as much time buying and selling armor model related stuff on eBay as I do building models.

Anyway – I spent the last few years lurking on all the message boards and building up my collection, but not really getting anything built (sound familiar?) so I decided to set up this vBench to help keep me focused on building.

My interests are mostly WWII – but it doesn’t matter if it is US, German, Russian, or whatever. I like things to be accurate, but I’m not going to lose sleep over a few millimeters here or there. I do this for fun, and if it is more fun to build and not be 100% correct than that is what is going to happen.

I always love to see everyone’s workshops, so I’ve included some shots of mine.

Overall shot:

Part 3:

and 4:

oh yeah, plus these:

Finally, here is a closer shot of the workbench:

Nice workbench Aaron,

Welcome to the Planet. That's one nice selection of AFVs you got also. I believe you'll like it here.

Well I'm not feeling so alone now. I've been a little bummed out since DML keeps coming out with newer versions of kits I have that I bought PE etc. for that are now obsolete. What am I going to do with my Italeri 234 kits .

Welcome aboard!

That's a nice stash there (a lot of those kits started to make me drool!)

James,
Here's Tom Cockle's advice about what to do with those any

Gday Aaron, welcome aboard. Youve joined a great community of modellers here.

Solution for all those with Italeri 234's - burn them ritualistically as homage to the gods of styrene, as thanks for DML's new kits. Save the aftermarket of course....

Sam
