Good finish- your unique painterly technique really shows through. Congrats on seeing it through to the end, it was worth the effort by far.

Thanks James, I'm glad I still have a "uniqueness" - most important thing to me as far as my painting is concerned anyway.

You missed the greasy post I did while you were replying If you flick back I have some updates to the engine bay. Thanks again.

Finally finished

VIGNETTE FINISHED - 'AFTER THE PHOTO'

.......................................

I have completed my Chassis section of this double vignette project. I have spent approx 400 hours altogether and have really enjoyed the challenge from B+W Analysis to final accessories. I am also very happy with deciding to split the 2 pieces of the model as this has allowed me to highlight each in different ways.

The Chassis project required matching to the vehicle found inside the build-up garage. I wanted to get the feel of the photo but also add some of my own touches to create more visual excitement so I have set my scene some time after the photos were taken but before the vehicle was moved outside. Because of the vehicles weight and size, storage situation (on blocks raised off the ground) and the amount of 'junk' insde the fighting compartment, I think that there could have been 3-6 days between photos of inside and outside positions. Quite a lot could have happened during this time and this is the basis to my changes from the photo........
- front fighting compartment armour hatch down
- left hand ventilator fan cover unscrewed and moved
- right hand front side OIL bath filter knocked down to the floor by standing soldier
- some extra details around the edge
Other details are educated guesses such as the front driver compartment and most of the rear junk. The photo of the rear is at a low angle and alot of the debri is hard to recognise - lots of cooling pies etc - I added a Radiator typical of the Panther and Tiger 2 series in place of the large square object in the middle of the rear fighting compartment. I could not distinguish what this was so I went with the cooling pies theme and added a radiator being worked on.

BASE
