Side Project: Afrikan Tiger "124" of s.Pz.Abt.501

Planet!

In the vain of resurrecting old projects, I decided to finish this Tamiya Tiger to practice my weathering on. Ever since Euro last year, I've been trying to incorporate something of the excellent finishes into my own work. Anyway, I'd like to hear your thoughts and recommendations. Thanks to Sam for the photos....again.

This kit is Tamiya's Afrika Tiger, with a few mods to make it like the one on page 35 of Squad Sig number 8 "Tiger 1 in Action". The colours are Gunze H402 and H404.

Sheeds.. you are having a burst of productivity here lately.

Good to see the oldies getting finished and looking damn nice to boot.

I am sure you have more in the unfinished stash

Now where is that Yeramba build I started about 3 years ago ?

Nice to revisit old builds to improve and try out new techniques. One of the better finish tigers I've seen in a while. Good work Sheeds.

Hi Sheeds!

Well in my opinion this is a great Tiger, but I dont know why, something wrong with the mud. Maybe its too much, or the strange color of it.....i hope you dont mind...you ask

cheers,

Sheeds, like the Staghound, this shows that a model doesn't need a million AM parts to be a show winner. The weathering on your Tiger is absolutely amazing. The different shades of desert yellow, subtle stains, chips, scratches, scuffs. All first rate work. Very inspiring stuff indeed.

Hi Anthony

Great modelling. It's seeing stuff like this that makes me glad I have internet access and sites like this are created, otherwise we'd be back to the once a month fix from magazines etc.

The front views really do it for me, although they all look brilliant. I agree with another posters comment regarding the sand/dirt on the tracks, to me it looks a little too large, out of scale.

But seriously if it wasn't for that element I would have mistaken those views as a real Tiger !!

Superb. I aspire to be this good.

Thanks for sharing. Oh and for the Staghound images to, another excellent model

Cheers

Alan
