Thanks MZ

You will not be disapointed with the Takom King Tiger.

Large german amour subjects have always been a favourite over the years.
The last big axis tank finished was some 4 years ago, where does the time fly.

There are a couple more photo's over here on the Jagdtiger
http://www.puttyandpaint.com/projects/4818

More images to follow on the king tiger, I'm on holidays for a few weeks and the intention is to have the King Tiger completed before I go back.
Head down over the weekend trying to cram all the parts into the turret with the next stage of applying the decals for the engine instrument, turret dials and gun markings.

Hello again,

A small update on progress on the King tiger.

Once the the voyager fenders are on the painting begins.

Tamiya tape will cover all the hatch's on the turret and hull before painting.
The turret barrel and sleeve are not glued in as they will be painted and intricately detailed along with the other parts displayed below.

Hello again,

Next installment of images, Voyager etch fenders are on

I was dissapointed Voyager did not include the front and rear fenders in the etch set.
The only way you could obtain them was to purchase the full etch set.

The 3 front quarter fender brackets are not included in the etch set and had to be robbed from another etch set.
I could have scratch built the brackets but decided that it was easier and quick to put on from a back up Aber set

Hello again

Happy New Year

Here is the 95 percent completion of the Takom King tiger

There is still some further shipping with a combination of oils blended down with Mig's odourless thinner

The Tiger will have the rear engine deck off with the engine suspended in the air from the crane jib

The series of images are still WIP with some very minor detailing.

Hello Again,

Here are the completed images before the king tiger is placed on the diorama. Will sit behind glass until it's time to place on the diorama.

The Tiger was predominately painted in Mig Ammo acrylics with additional Vellajo, lifecolour and Humbrol enamels.

Weathering was made with Ak Earth filter(wash) to distress the paint from new.
Oil panits for the chipping.

Now back to finish the Famo and trailer

Next project

Quite a few hours taken up for all the crates and bottles to be glued, painted and decals applied.
They are all going to be positioned in the bottom corner of the house with other stores.

It may be awhile before I post again

Brief update

All the wine bottles have the decals applied.
The decal sheet has 2 less than the number of bottles in the box, lucky Archer come to the party with wine bottle labels.
I ripped 2 decals out of the total , I can live with that.

I may need a break to do the beer bottle crates, there are a lot there.

Now back to the Famo and trailer .

Hello Everyone,

Just dropping a quick update to let you know this thread has a slight delay at present with close off on the Tamiya famo and trailer as the tractor and trailer are near 97% completed with the kit to be pinned to the base and small parts to be glued into place.
And sadly to say I have torn into another project.
The HK Models B17 with the AC Models aircrew.

With the famo tractor and trailer near completion a large scale plane and crew is a nice distraction to building Amour.

Once the aircrew are completed I will venture back into closing the Famo and trailer off.

Without boring you all with the details I will show the progress.

The B17 Memphis Belle is my first large scale plane.
