LHS...Show Me the Goods!

Planet Model People...Let Us Share. For many of us we do some, if not all of our model and supply purchases online...same for me. So what of the LHS?

I thought that as we were sharing our works, faces, and hometowns, let's share our LHS.

Here is mine.

The Quest for Fire...my Holy Grail....I needed glue..!

So here are some shots of my Local Hobby Store. It's name is Bridgetown Hobbies...we have lots of bridges in Portland.

Lets move inside...

...they trade money for plastic here...

....this is the area that Paul Ranta and I met for the first time at our local club meeting...

...the references...

,,,and the armor kit section....for 1/35...there are other shelves for different scales...

So...there you are. This store is about 15 minutes walking from my home, the people there are wonderful...I don't take it for granted.

Let's see your LHS.

That's pretty cool having a club meeting in a hobby shop. Supplies are just a few paces away

I too would love to post pics of my local full line hobby shop but since it is two hours away I think I will pass on that. I think I may have to take a trip down to Portland some time in the near future.

What a paradise!
Definitely better than mine for the volume of goods they have (books etc.)!
Here is my LHS, M5 Modellismo (photos from their website), formerly known as Mastrocinque Modellismo.
The location is in the southern part of Rome, few steps away from the underground station "Ponte Lungo" (= "Long Bridge") and from the railway station "Tuscolana". I live at about 2 kms from the shop, just a couple of underground stops.
It has been made bigger few years ago. They just connected the old shop to a nearby one. Visible in one of the photos is a whole SS uniform. They also sell some cimelia from the Fascist era, but they cannot be shown to comply with the Italian law.

This is the website (italian only, but it's not that good...)
www.m5modellismo.com

And here is the page I added on the IPMS Stockolm European hobby shops guide
http://www.ipmsstockholm.org/hobbysh...217_022025.xml

There are different shops in a range of about 5 kms from my house, but this is the best (and only) if you want to get DML, Tamiya and more important brands (and general modelling). In the case I had to get some paints or glue, I go to a small shop called "Modellismo 90", 10 minutes walk from my house, specialized in cars (it seems they also sell their own production).

Giacomo, that looks pretty nice to me. I like the "security guard", is the uniform original? My shop doesn't carry railroad stuff as yours...there are a couple of specialty shops for RR nearby....

Gaming, (Warhammer etc.) are a big part of my LHS, as is their selection of diecast auto's....more so than armor kits!
