You are on brave man tackling the Italeri kit. I have it as well but it's destined never to be finished. I have the OTM Bergepanther set will use a DML base if I ever get round to it.

The biggest problem with the Italeri kit is the upper hull is too short. Good luck with your build.

A good choice - I'm still working on mine after a year. I used a DML Panther A hull, Fruil tracks, the Verlinden resin set and various other bits and pieces. All in all, it's been a very interesting build, but not one for the inexperienced.

If I can be of any assistance, please let me know - I have quite a bit of additional reference material as well as the one you're using.

Regards

Rob

I believe you know Rob Plas? He was super helpful when I was looking for pics to scrathbuild the winch (as the Italeri ones is complete rubbish) and he has lots of detail photos of the Saumur BP.

Hi Jan,

Saw the Bergepanther on the frontpage ... and it pops in my head 'that must be Jan!'. Can't wait to see you working (or talking) on this project. See you in Zutphen!

Best, MartinD

I made a start on this tonight, and i allready feel it is not going to be finished
Maybe it is all the great kits us modellers get nowadays, but this kit feels soooo outdated. After the RSO this is the second Italeri project i'm thinking of dropping, maybe i should just stick to building newer kits, which are far less frustrating.... I really hate myself for this, but i just want an enjoyable build, instead of trying to work wonders with 'old crap'
