Death of the English "Pint"

Did anybody hear that the English are going to drop the "Pint" as the standard size of a pub beer and replace it with the Aussie "Schooner"? A schooner is 1/3 of a pint in size so you'll be going back for drink more often, lol! How did that happen?

Why would the clowns not let people into the tent? What's the point of the show if they don't? .

I thought a schooner was 3/4 the size of a pint (except in SA)?

useful information.

thank you for the useful information, English pint, schooner and such. This lowly Texan is learning new things here on 'off topic'.
Down here in south Texas, they always talk about "three finger tequila"...to-kill-ya.

Dont know where you heard that but no we are definately not doing away with the good old pint. There has been talk in recent years of having to go metric and sell in litres, and glasses having to have measure lines so you arent paying for froth and not beer, but all hot air and fizzled out. The pint aint goung anywhere

Just because a country goes metric doesn't mean a standard of measure will be done away with Both South Africa and Australia, the 2 countries i've lived in, have been metric for ages, but the pint is a recognised standard of measure for beer, just like "a glass" is a standard measure of wine....

"The Ashes"? What's that? I don't recall any crigget happening lately
