A scratch built suspension? Awesome! What thickness of styrene are you using for the leaf springs?

Evan, the original leaf blades were 10 mm thick. To be in scale I used a .3 mm styrene sheet.

Step 3: Front axle

Hi Guys,

thanks to all of you for watching and for your comments

Oooh and by the way I am building this vehicle, althought a bit earlier in time (Summer 1944) when it was still in Estonia:


After studying my references I decided not to use any of the DML parts except the wheels for the front axle, suspension, steering. I will scratchbuild the whole lot. Here is what it should look like:


After completing the leaf blade suspension part. I worked on the front axle tonight. Here is the brass front axle I made:


It has the correct round appearance. Where the DML part has edges:
