Italeri AB 41

Here is my AB 41, I did this little project whilst I await some StuG parts. It was a quick build. I had the whole thing done in a weekend.

Ok base coat of chocolet brown, followed by one coat of desert yellow.

Since the vehicle I am modeling has these large Italian flags painted all over it, I figured in for a penny, so I have masked and begun to paint the flags. So far I have the white and green applied.

Flags are done. just one area of bleed thru on the rear.

Can you say Nobody is perfect? Well I sure ain't!!! I made the number decals for my AB41, and they just wouldn't snuggle down.

First I tried to blend the edges with some future and sanding, didnt work.
In fact nothing worked and I got here:

Not a good place in the finishing to be stripping and sanding. I feathered as best as I could then masking applied:

Reshoot primer/preshade:

Repaint and post shade:

Reapply numbers, this time with paint and a mask:

And finally re-weather. The finished repair:

You did the whole thing in a weekend and salvaged a potential catastrophe. 2 things I could never do.

Great job and recovery. I like the weathering and I'm going to refering to your build when I build mine. Did you chip it by hand?
