The Albatross a large twin-radial engine amphibious flying boat that was utilized by the USAF, USN and USCG, primarily as a search & rescue and combat search & rescue aircraft. It was developed to land in open ocean situations to rescue downed pilots/flight crew members. Its deep-V hull cross-section and substantial length enable it to land in the open sea. The “A” variant was used primarily by the USAF through many conflicts, including in Korea, where it gained a reputation as a rugged and seaworthy craft. Kit consists of over 380
parts on 18 sprues plus metal landing gear and photo-etched parts. Features positionable flaps, detailed engine/cockpit, and optional metal or plastic undercarriage. Completed kit measures over 15” long
with a 20” wingspan. This is the first kit of its kind in this scale!

1555 1/35 Russian T-62 ERA Mod 1962 Tank
MSRP $57.95

This 1962 modification of the T-62 included Explosive Reactive Armor (ERA) attachments for additional protection against attack. Kit consists of over 680 parts on 27 sprues including metal gun barrel, photo-etched parts and individual track links.
[Sharkmouth's note: This is the same as the recent kit with the older Model 1962 turret. The image provided is not good enough to let one know if the tracks are the newer tracks or the older OMsh tracks.]

1570 1/35 Soviet KV-122 Heavy Tank
MSRP $53.95

The KV series of tanks were known for their extremely heavy armor protection during the early part of WWII, especially during the first year of the invasion of the Soviet Union. As the Germans developed better guns, the Soviets needed to upgrade their KV85. In 1944, they added a 122mm D-25T cannon and designated it KV-122. However, by the time the KV-122 was fully developed, the war was nearing its close and only one prototype was made but was never put into service. Kit consists of over 440 parts on 23 sprues plus metal gun barrel, brass wire and photo-etched parts.

5326 1/350 USS Indianapolis CA-35 Cruiser, 1945
100% NEW TOOL!
MSRP $79.95

The Indianapolis was a Portland-class cruiser of the United States Navy. Having first served in 1942 in the South Pacific, she saw major action in many Japanese strongholds, becoming a critical part of many US Naval battles in WWII. After having been overhauled twice during the war, her final mission was on July 30, 1945 delivering critical parts for the first atomic bomb to be used in combat to the U.S. air base at Tinian. Shortly after the delivery, the ship was torpedoed by a Japanese I-58 submarine, and sank in 12 minutes. Of 1,196 crewmen aboard, approximately 300 went down with the ship and nearly 600 additional perished in the water awaiting rescue. Kit consists of over 630 parts on 14 sprues, including photo-etched parts. Two SOC aircraft are included. Completed kit measures nearly 21” long! This is the first plastic kit of this subject in this scale!

5556 1/35 Soviet BMP-1P Infantry Fighting Vehicle
MSRP $46.95

The second variant of the BMP-1, the “P” version of this Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV), was developed in the mid-1970’s. After analyzing the BMP-1’s effectiveness in the Yom Kippur and Vietnam wars, the Soviets replaced the largely ineffective 9M14M Malyutka ATGM with the more reliable, longer range and more powerful 9P135M or 9P135M-1 ATGM launcher. Kit consists of over 540 parts on 13 sprues plus metal gun barrel.

5571 1/35 Russian 2S1 Self Propelled Howitzer
100% NEW TOOL!
MSRP $62.95

The 2S1, also known as Gvozdika, is a Soviet 122-mm self-propelled howitzer, and entered service with the Soviet Army in the early 1970s. It is fully amphibious with very little preparation, and once afloat is propelled by its tracks. A variety of wider tracks are also available to allow the 2S1 to operate in snow or swamp conditions. It is NBC (nuclear, biological, chemical) protected and has infra-red night-vision capability. Kit consists of over 960 parts on 22 sprues including photo-etched details.

The above is from Stevens Hobby, a US distributor of Trumpeter.

I hope someone in the aftermarket business will jump at the 2S1, so I can get a PE set for my SKIF kit (the Eduard set being discontinued). Also it would be nice if Friul did a wide track set for it.
There is no kill like overkill.
