You won't be able to guess what I got today

EDIT (3/13/06): I dumped the Tamiya kit...it's scrap in my spare parts bin and has been for a long time now...I've been melding the Tristar kit with the newer Dragon Pz IV E kit (the parts that are better than the Tristar kits, such as side armor, interior, etc.)

I will try to post as regularly as I can, but being that school started last Wednesday, I'm not quite sure about my progress...I already got an English project ....I need to get back to the Tico party (Ticos are Costa Ricans...my mom has the family over here)....

Gosh...puts me on the spot lol

Here's something interesting that I found a while ago... a Pz IV near el Alamein with an SdKfz 222, an 11 (?) (towing a Flak 18 or 36 ? (the dual wheels back there make it look like a FLAK gun, though it doesn't look like it because of that single tire...is that the front?)
There's another vehicle near the right edge of the picture there too...another 222 perhaps?
Love that IV D

Hi,

yep, that's a flak

dual tyre rear and single tyre front almost certainly makes this a flak18 carriage, as depicted in the new afv club offering. It shows this carriage type quite clearly on the box top!

nice picture by the way.

 Cool cool! That would be an interesting scene to make...It'll probably take a while though , but that's ok I guess...I haven't had much luck trying to get that AFV Club FLAK 18...They totally disappeared out here for some reason....at least I have 1 222 and that 11

I worked on the kit early yesterday morning and in the evening...The kit is just beautiful. So many sprues I played around with it a little bit first, taking note of any possible part swaping that I could do...just cuz really  ... The one thing i would like to change are the engine deck hatches...I just don't like those hatches the kit give ya...

Here's what I'm talking about, though this is for the upcoming Dragon IV E

I'm not quite sure what to do about that exactly (like to use the Tamiya hatches even though the hinges are different and I don't want to screw them up) ...

I can image that Tristar will probably make another IV D...like a later version or something (along with another figure set (?)), but I'm not going to wait for that lol

I recently found this thing about a D-Lite Issue that looks into the kit (the cover has a left side shot with two Alpine miniatures DAK guys)... I'll find that issue somewhere It may be interesting to thumb through

He's gotta be on crack...

(^^^^^^ he was on crack (it's at the regular MSRP now)...I guess he wanted to see if someone was dumb enough to buy it for $90 US lol)

Here's an update of where I am at...however, the photos are from last Sunday night and I was sick on Tuesday and had time to work more on the suspension and finish up the roadwheels...

Just the "skeleton" here...haven't glued on the superstructure...I would like to put an interior in it, if I can...

Extras and tracks....(too many sprues that are relatively pointless bother me)
