Nice work LQ! I just started this one yesterday, great little kit! Your coverage of the steering mechanism should come in handy...

Looks super! But what is D-49 for any way?
I'm not really sure but I think it could be the leftover mount for a headlight?

I've been inspired by Dave's interior painting, Fletch's and Masanori-san's Marder IIIH and here's a little update to share with you guys

On to Step 14 where the front superstructure armor plates get a bit of attention.

The parts. You need to be careful with part C-8 as I broke it while fiddling around with it The reinforcing ribs, C-8 and C-9 should stand proud of the armor plate at an angle.

Left side. I didn't follow the instructions on the bottom plate for the shield (C-12 and C-13). The instructions have you glue it to the hull first. I decided to glue it to the superstructure instead.

Right side

Very nice LQ!

It kind of makes you wonder...having those shells there, one piece of shrapnel
and the crew is history.

Aaah - Your Dude-liness!!!

I was begining to wonder if this string was just a figment of my imagination

THis and the Kriegslok have been in stasis (not like I can talk smack about smooth timely performance building) and have made me very sad

The stowage tubes - which I had always wondered about - now make complete sense seeing the partial rounds - not a bad little engineering solution. I've had to wrestle with the Grille's stowage PE, and it's not pretty. I really like the way this one was thought out.

Shrapnel... roger that, man. The guys using these in a stand up fight had great big ones... as an odd little aside, in the Close Combat game series - they rarely survive a full turn due to their vulnerability to just about everything.

Good to see you got the fires burning again LazMan!
