Hi all!
This is my first real build in my workbench.
This Tiger i modelled to represent a Tiger 1 from sPz Abt 501 in november 1942.
It is the now old Tamiya Initial production MM227 I bought it back in 1998 and started the model, but it for several reasons stalled an ended on productionshelf
in my closet. Now It was a good oppertunity to restart it so here it goes.

This side view You se the whole model I changed the Barrel and Mantel with one from Dragon Initial production.

Here you can see I have changed the tow cable mounts

Here You can se the back of the model and the small changes I have made..

Here is a side view The tow cables are Karaya cables they are very good, and all the small fittings are home made..

More detail side view The Smoke generator mount is from Elefant models sadly OOP!

From above Here it is clear the rearangement of the tow cables, the Jack block is made of Photo etch and balsa wood, the cleaning rods is styrene rod.

Motor vents the etch is from Eduard.

Detail of the tow cable

I have made the running gear flexible! Torsion dampers in plastic!

Anoter shot from behind!

Detail shot of the turret the numbering is Aber in 1,0 mm

Another detail shot of the turret wing nuts is from Modelkasten and welding is
made with Plastruct 0,3 mm round rod dissolved in liquid glue

Hope You like my photos, and comments are very welcome!

Nice work Dan.

I've just painted my one of these after it sat on the shelf since 5 month 04! I couldnt decide on camo colours. What colours will you be painting this in?

Willy.

Thanks to you all for the nice words.!
If I follow the color suggestions in "SteelMasters" or "Tiger 1 on the western front" it should be a uniform color (this green yellow color similar to Testor Modelmaster no 2098 witch should be equal to Ral 7008), but then again there are some rumors that theese early Tigers was painted in a two tone camuflage..so ?
Nico. For this model I have assembled some old Friulmodel ( before the change to track pins) it is no 25 in that series.

Very Nice Dan,

I like your detailing, especially the torsion bar suspension!

Hello again

Here is an update on this model.

An overall view from front It is near completion execpt tools witch is'nt finished.

I have fixed the tow cable now and added some detailling.

Detail on tow cable fastings all homemade in styrene

Detail of fastings for Tow cable Theese Karaya cables, they are good.

Detail of hatch added smal missing parts from styrene.

Detail of the special Bosch light holder special for sPz Abt 501. it is from
"On the mark" etch set sadly OOP. The mount is from Modelkasten.

Side view. I have used the kit's side fender panels just thinned a lot from the underside.
That's all for now.
