Hiya
Caption of this photo is definitely wrong- this pic was taken by Russians, after taking Koenigsberg (Krolewiec). There is the whole series of photos with buildings which are very characteristic for Koenigsberg. Unfortunately, the author of this book (Panzerwaffe 1945 vol. 1) is wrong quite often when it comes to captions.
My copy, although not as good quality, from Concord says also from Konigsburg.

[QUOTE=Larry Bates,Jan 6 2006, 02:05 AM]You know Ian,

After some careful second glances, it would appear that this stug was knocked out by stoning! Look, there on the grass in front of it! Stoning stones.

:lol: Larry......Stoning Stones....... the glue fumes are extra good around here today!
Though it does look like that is what took the chunks out of the zimm doesn't it!

Speaking of "Stugs I'd like to build", I found this shot on eBay. I think this shot tells a thousand words.

Larry, I found these two angles of your Stug. Now you have no excuses not to finish your model!

They're scanned from the excellent (and under rated) series by Sunday Art, in this case "German Assault Guns". These books are excellent for their raw images, as well as giving you other angles of the same vehicle.....and in much better quality than the shot scanned from your Concord publication!

I thought this shot from the Sunday Art book was the same as the vague one Larry posted from his Concord publication. It must be a few more frames along the roll though.

Any bets on the age of the antique in the fox hole?

Now you have 3 extra shots Larry.

Willy.
