Oh boy, still more days down the line but now this baby has had its lid put on for good! Interior done and rubbed down dirty. A few shell casings from the last encounter and a good mix of shells ready.

I'm still not happy with the Eduard gun shield side armour left and right: think it's too thin... this would have been 8 - 14.5 mm armour IRL and the Eduard is probably 1/8 mm PE...

Thinking about replacing the side armour with the Dragon stuff: will probably look more like the real thing.... Oh, what to do...

Best regards

J

Well, well... wondered what that flimsy cage-like structure on the rear door inside was for...? Searched the internet: got the answer... or at least an answer. Looked in my decals & transfers box and found the right thing from Archer! Done deal.

I also tore off the Eduard side gun shields - they were too thin. The Dragon stuff will do the job. Welding made with very thin putty. Got some bolts and foliage loops on the side armour as well.

The little thing is just about ready to be sealed up and primed.

Best regards

Thanks Tony....

Well, some things do get better with time... wine and men, for instance! Maybe this little thing too.

Hope to prime on day off tomorrow...

So, this racy little Spähpanzer had a coat of primer too.

No incursions of primer into the interior...

Nice work. What color did you use for the primer?

Thanks Johannes...

That goes for your comment on the Hummel + Nashorn build too...

The dark red is Vallejo's RAL 8012. 60 ml of German red brown primer, ready for direct use in the air brush. Quite close to the real McCoy, I understand.

Best regards

So, a little progress here: got the little Ranting Randi a coat of Vallejo 914 Dunkelgelb. Ranting Randi is what I am sure Sebastian Vettel would have called it...

Camouflage was added using Vallejo Model Air 096 Panzer Olivgrün and 041 Panzer Braun. Both were well diluted prior to painting... like three to one.

Lot of work still to do but now it is beginning to look like something...

best regards
