Stenciling...

Hello guys,
no-man, thanks - maybe the changed background color is better for the olive drab tank...
Don, I used Lion Roar's stencil set for the numbers and "USA" text on the sides of the Stuart:

The prepared text (close to the original C42 tank found on the web) before applying to the sides:

And finally the results. Not as sharp edged and crisp as I hoped but works quite well before the weathering anyway. On the left side of the tank I made a mistake: didn't see a hole on the masking and painted the back of the stowage bin blue. Need to be corrected next time.
The yellow triangle - red square was painted by hand. The turret numbers are dry transfers from Mig Productions. Caused me a light heart attack as after applying one side, the other side's numbers didn't want to leave the stencil... and no other 41 in this size on this stencil set... but finally I solved the problem (and the uneven surface of the number) with a dry, soft brush and some gentle moves.
And this is how the Stuart looks now.

That's for today, cheers!

Zsolt

Weathering...

Started the weathering stage (my favourite). I used several layers of heavily diluted mix of Humbrol 103 and 119 as a "sand-wash" on the entire model and later enhanced the effect with ProModellers Wash. Now the tank is 95% ready it is time to start the base and the figures... more to follow (I hope) soon cheers,
Zsolt

Six years passed like a moment...

After six and a half year yesterday I took this little beauty from its box and started to think about finishing. Few things missing from the vehicle: antenna and the 0.3cal machine gun. Some stowage added and weathered and two tanker figures painting has started - the questionmark is the finishing date

Thanks guys! I bought a lot of jungle vegetation (PE and laser cut paper) and have two US tankers (cleared and primed and ready for paint) and some stuff (jerry cans, etc) to place it to a small vignette. I hope to finish it soon
