Hello everybody,
I haven't been around here for a while but would like to post some progress shots of my latest build - Panther G 1:35 SCALE Dragon Smart Kit - Final Production (no 6286)

The build is based on this photo.

I was originally going to build this as in the photo but decided to back date it to before the INTERNAL explosion and the Russian catalog number was painted on.

LOTS of extras such as PE, Alder's nest Blued MG & Track pins, JB model barrel (with the threaded muzzle brake)and all the other good gear you get in the kit anyway!

Plenty of extras added.

Added the red primer to the rear areas that would be masked.The MIG Graveyard dirt pigment color is perfect for weathering dirt and stains as well as individual panel definition/ shadowing.

Adding the Mud - used the Tamiya mud mix as the initial base.

JB model barrel (with the threaded muzzle brake)

BASE COATING

1. VALLEJO CAMMO BLACK BROWN [71042] over CAMMO MED BROWN 31078

4. I then applied a custom mix German Dark Yellow made with artists oils - applied to the model with a medium brush to approx. match the photo ref.

5. Added the brown (Cammo Medium Brown Vallejo 71038)

6. Then worked on the paint deterioration .... also added numbers 121and the Alders nest blued steel MG 42

Statred off with a nice solid piece of timber and dug out the ditch with a chisel, then sealed it.

I then built up the texture with stones, sand and Silfour vegetation.

The base has been painted with acrylic base colors ready for the detail treatment with oils.

The tank is still in the base cammo with some chipping but basically no shadow weathering or worn winter cammo yet.
The tank has the basic colors to be able to now fix it to the base are blend in with the advanced coloring and weathering of the base, that way they match and the tank doesn't look as though it has been 'choppered - in'.

This is a great build. The,groundwork is awesome, and the Panther and figures are very we'll done. Nice work.

I know.

I don't know what happened. I was talking to a guy from Military Models in Review a couple months back, and he was shocked at how much it had changed, from an active hub to a small core group.

But I refuse to give up. We can rebuild. We have the technology!
