King tiger sounds scarier then tiger 2 to me...

Royal tiger is kinda Nancy boy to me though

it's funny couse panther was panzer mk 5 and tiger was mk 6 but tiger was designed before panther so why wasn't tiger mk 5?
when they designed new tank after mk 5 and 6 then used scariest name at that time which was tiger of course, but they used better and newer design from panther (sloped armor and everything that makes tiger II and panther G almost same tank) so i would say that it is actually panther II but "tiger!!! tiger!!!" scream on radio by U.S. troops was much more effective on morale than "panther!!! panther!!!" =)
hitler even took one tank out of production because of it's name but i can't remember which one? wespe maybe?

Here's another question- why is the King Tiger the Tiger B, and Tiger I is Tiger E? With most vehicles you get a new Ausf. designation with successive modifications, yet Tiger B is a complete redesign and retains the Panzer VI title?

maybe B is ment like II or 2 as if boxy tiger was tiger A... but it wasn't... so it can't be that way? =D
and i never understood why german tanks didn't follow alphabet...
tiger was H and then E without A B C and D before him and panther fas A D and G...
=D oh well.. just another german mystery...

Perhaps they were trying to confuse the Allies with the ' Ausf ' desiginations. Confuse4s me at times.......

The reason the King Tiger is designated Ausf B is because the first Panzer VI was designated VK4502, the updated design that went into production was VK4503 (P) with the Porsche turret, and later it was replaced by the Henschel turret.

The Tiger I and the Tiger II are totally different designs, so that's why the letters don't have continuity.

And the Panther was designed before the King Tiger. The Panther first design was presented to Hitler on December 1942 while the order to design the King Tiger was not issued until January 1943.

And remember KuK, the Ausf a was not the first panther model.....the d was the first production model. The US did it too.....the M4A1 was the first Sherman production model, followed by the M4.
