Land-Wasser-Schlepper, early production
Hi.
Starting a new thread about early LWS. Kit is Bronco's as Hobby Boss's one is simplified and proportionally inaccurate. If talking about aftermarket, I'm going to use Friul tracks, Thachweave bumpers and Voyager's PE set - this is for mid version, but most of it should go just fine.
The kit itself is familiar as I have built one (Broncos mid-version) about four years ago. I have already dealt with this one about couple of weeks now - mostly suspension, which had to be totally re-engineered. Final drive had to be made scratch too, as it was undersized. And some detailing here and there of course.
Here it is - German amphibian beauty:

Holy moly! I REALLY like what you've done. Which references are you using?

Thanks Saúl.
I'm using Trojca book. It's in german though, but there's lot of good quality photos to hold your eyes on to. And also using Flak's really good build here, in PlanetArmor, as assembly reference.

Hi Kristjan,
your work on this beauty is amazing... I built one by Hobby Boss a couple of years ago, but I didn't go that far in the details !
Which model did you take to do the final drive in scratch ?
Keep it up !

Thanks, Grim.
I guess the final drive on the real thing were Panzer IV's, as LWS shared most of its mechanical components with Pz. IV. As on the model, I didn't have any kind of Pz. IV final drive to use or modify, so I made it totally from scratch - Pz. III road wheel was used as base part where the Bronco's final drive's center were fitted in. Ribs, back plate and upper part were then made out of styrene. It isn't accurate in any matter, but is better, than the Bronco's original.

Coming along nicely. Lots a little pieces that like to fling off when painting and such. Be careful.

Really cool subject and appreciating all the extra scratch details being added.
Looking to further updates.
Thank you.
