Tamiya Panzer II

Hi all,

Thought I'd post some pics of my Tamiya Panzer II. It depicts a vehicle from the French campaign. The idea was to show a vehicle that had seen a bit of use, but not much abuse. So, worn and grubby, rather than bashed and battered.

Still to do: detail painting on the headlamps, tools and wheels; worn steel effects on the tracks and wheels; stowage; a final dusting with pigments and finishing touches (oil runs, and the like). And a figure, I suppose.

This is the first model I have (virtually) finished in about twenty years, so be gentle!

Thanks for looking!

I like it. It's not so beaten to death that it is overdone. Great work so far!

"Not bad for your first" heck that ain't bad for a 50th.
I would have given it a little more dust on the top side but that's just me.

Great Job

Thank you all for your encouraging words. Your feedback is very welcome.

Luiz: you're right, the muffler, and its cover, are both too clean. I'm trying to think of ways to make them look rusty and battered that won't spoil the model (ie, they have to be easy enough for me to do them!). At the moment, it'll probably be a bunch of pigments and hoping for the best.

Tony: thanks for the kind words. There will be dust. It's just that I thought it would be better to fix the stowage and clutter on first, so that everything gets dusted up in the same way. Then I can go to town with some oil and fuel spills.
