1/48 Panther G

Hi Planet,

I picked up this Tamiya Panther G expecting some smooth and rapid sailing
For detailing I'll use voyager PE set.

First, I removed the molded on spare track brackets. They were sooooooo ugly and removing them was uglier.
Some weld beads were also added.

Typical case of Tamiya sabotage on realistic modelling.

I added hatch damper and rivets on the roof. Missing horizontal weld line was also added.

Replacing grab handles is always joyful experience.
I added mysterious nub on the something whose name I don't know using 1/35 DML smart Panther as my reference, but only to found out that nub was some bracket for the front fender and should not be that proud.

I couldn't trust CA glue and used Araldite epoxy glue because it is more strong and gives more time for adjusting parts.

I'm trying to build this splinter camo 332 cat I found in the Concord Panther book.

I believe there must be a wartime photo of this vehicle and googled but to no avail.
If you have the photo, would you please help me.

I also found this capture of the Panther project DVD in the armorama.com but not sure of its authenticity.

Thanks in advance,

Wonsug

That looks like the late war camo if I'm correct...nice project.

Sorry, I couldn't find any photos for this one...

Petarted, serpico, Uruk-hai, Thanks

Some more progress so far...

Adding PE hooks. the area for attachment is so small and I had to engrave lines for the hooks and planted them.

The voyager instruction on the grill for the heater was wrong, and I consulted instruction of the Aber one.

I inserted plastic sheet inside of that structure.

Part of Flammvernichter is missing for ease of assembly, and I'm not sure if I should reconstruct it. It is hardly visible but then again, why did I make it thin?

Weld beads on the turret is not satisfactory at all.
Did I mention that I added those structures limiting depression of the barrel?

Voila, weld beads made from stretched sprue.

Missing periscope is not surprising for Tamiya.

... and this is my solution.

Some detailing of hatch opening mechanism. It was fun build but I'm definitely not in the mood for making another one.

Weld beads on the superstructure.

Areas crying for putty work.

and desperate efforts to make idler wheels look better.

ABER's pe is much better than VM, as I am WIP a 1/48 Jagdpanther.
And VM's 1/48 TIGER is a joke, only grill can be used
