T-55 - A Tamiya Delicacy

Hi!

After being bogged down by some finishing work on a few other projects I felt like I needed a breath of fresh air. Something different from dunkelgelb and 88mm barrels.
This kit is a real pleasure to build. Nice crisp detail, comfortable number of parts and the now classic Tamiya fit qualities. I managed to build it pretty much in one evening. I left the MG assembly for the morning so as not to fall asleep behind the desk.
I will not use the kit tracks and try to get some Friuls. I am thinking of doing an Afghan version so I can be more creative with the paintwork.

HI!

Thanks for the good words!

The beast is done. It took several coats of greens, yellows and airbrush shading. All very time consuming but very fun. Next came filter/washes of more yellow, green, brown and a proper black was to top it all off. Not feeling like many words right now, so lets get to the pictures.

All the best to you all!

Siim

Siim,

Great job. Nice look with the paint, filters and washes, and I think it having only one fuel drum is a great touch!
