yup Tzanos, the silly putty doesn't mask quite good as the styrene circles, but with sharp pointed brush you can correct the possible mistakes, thanks for watching

more advances...

good morning gents, this are the latest weathering stages on the M48H...
I applied an oil blend on each color tone of the camouflage. sap green,Naples yellow and savia green? on the NATO green, Payne's gray and white on the gray spots and burnt sienna for the brown spots

a pin wash made of raw umber was applied on tiny details such as bolts nuts and handles

once the pin wash was completely dried I sprayed a bit of dull-cote on the areas that seems to bright

mapping applied to replicate very worn paint, the lense of the camera cant catch what i tried to achieve

well that's all for now, today i try to do a bit of dusting
best regards
Ivan Loera

Hi!

Great blog, great result. I love the saturated colors of the tank. Also, the weathering looks very convenient to me.

How did you make those warning triangles attached to the rear basket of the turret?

Johannes

hey Johannes, thanx for the reply. the warning triangles were made from scratch from styrene strips and painted with Vallejo... sorry, cant remember the name of the color, and the gloss tiny strips were made out from aluminium and painted with tamiya clear.
