G'day Joh,
You are not the only one to say that about the PM feature .
Turns out I'm a retard (yes along with an exceptionally low IQ) and stuffed up at the very start when I came here . I've fixed it up!!!!
I checked the box for this tag, sorry.

Life's so very funny, you just need to remember to laugh [note to the clowns].

Why would the clowns not let people into the tent? What's the point of the show if they don't? .

@ Coops: Aight!

@ Adam: Thank you very much!

So this might be the last update for quite some time (University's calling again -.-)

If you remember, I started to bend the frame for the seat some time ago (if not, just go back to page two or three) but had no fitting springs (frame is wider than on other vehicles, it seems like). Back then I decided to put the seats away and do other works on the Elefant but now I have to think of a solution for this problem.

Having done so much by myself already, I neither wanted to use the poorly done (Verlinden) nor the seats with a lot of air bubbles (Jaguar). So I was back on my own springs.

But before this, those two holes were drilled into the frame where later a wire goes through, to connect it with the bottom part.

So here's my setup for the springs. First, I glued a piece of balsa wood on normal wood, where the fixing pins would go in which I used for bending. Then I took some 0.2 mm wire and shaped it around the pins. On the right you can see the PE springs I had left over from my 234/1 project - but these were not broad enough and looked ugly when stretched.

A close-up during the bending process.

The first piece is done! Of course not nearly as perfectly round as the PE are, but it has it advantage, too. It's not flat.

And this is what it will eventually look like. I was not in the mood for soldering this evening, so it's just a very dry-fit. But I'm also not sure, if I won't change the master for the springs to a more fine and more even one - to match the PE better. Also, the frame has a little dent on the right and top. On the other hand, these are magnified macro-shots...

What do you think?

Johannes

Well that looks like a great method, but I think I don't have the patience in me to make all of them like this.

Thanks you two. Yes, it will take quite some time Especially with my new "master", which is smaller. I'll post pics of this when I'm back home in a few weeks.
