Markus,

as always very clean - your modelling skills keep astonishing me. You are using more shortcuts then i am used from you (like keeping the wrong Rommelkiste and using a workaround for the Feifels connector tubing) but, hey, it's your model! Do whatever will keep you happy with it.

One question though: I always thought that Das Reich received new Tigers before Kursk and S33 was one of them - that would mean a post-March 1943 example with a loaders periscope. Was S33 a survivor of Charkow instead? Most obviously it has been a long time i had a look into my Tiger books ...

Any progress on the Wespe?

Stefan

Here's a shot of Tiki I found on Wiki while hunting around. I saw it and thought of you but as it's a bit RS I don't know how good it will be.

Why would the clowns not let people into the tent? What's the point of the show if they don't? .

Interesting photos there Coops. My intentions are to depict S34 during travel over rough ground up hill.

Stefan: It depends. S33 was indeed a late Early Tiger 1 BUT as far as I know it after Kursk. 13 Coy left some tigers to both TK and DR. S33 seen in the woods are a former LSSAH Tiger. BUT we do got the S33 before/during kursk and if the S33 was with the Chinese lucky sign then it would have been an early early Tiger 1. Reinforced mantel but without loaders periscope and the two holes over drivers visors.
Regards
Ebbe

Will you be using the up-coming DML Sd.Kfz.181 Tiger I Early [#6269] due out in early September? IIRC it will be the same as Wittmann's and those other early Tigers of the SS [could very well be wrong about that but I do remember that 6269 is due any time soon].

Markus,

den Baubericht habe ich ja bisher komplett bersehen!

A Tiger from your hand?! Now that's something unusual! But I'm very happy you're doing, since you've amazing skills both in building and especially painting. It's good to see someone using the comprehensive ABER Special Set.

Go go go Markus

Howdy Markus,

Playing with the Heavy Weights, I see. I agree with the others, your first attempt wasn't too shabby! Expectations are high, now - but I'm confident that you will pull off a work of art.

Rick

Coops: This kit has been announced for quite some time. Even before the CH kit came. I will use the Tamiya kit as this is around on the market and I can get..well 2-3 of them for just one CH Tiger. I will hand paint the TIKI label, Modelkasten tracks, TMD front armor, new S-minen, correct storagebin, metall barrel et.c. What is new it that I will try to articulate the wheels in a new way. Idea came from the internet, youtube, where a bloke made articulate wheels for his Type 90 tank.
Regards
Ebbe

Wow, a lot of comments!

Thanks a lot guys, Im glad you like it this far (even though its nothing special)!

Steve,
thanks a lot for your help! Even though its "Tiki", one can never have to many pics, right?

Luiz,
thanks a lot my friend!

Stefan,
thanks mate!
Well, if I could get the right stowage box, I would really think about changing it. But the only way seems to order parts from Tamiyas Africa Tiger, which would be cool for me, but somehow Im not overly happy with the details on it and it seems like our (the german) importer is not answering my E-Mails.
Speaking of the Feifel-Filters, can I be totally sure that it carried the Y-shaped piece? If yes, I would think about changing this as well. Might be a cool idea anyway, the more I think about it...
Ebbe is right by the way, we got two S33, one earlier one and one that was a former LSSAH Tiger. The one Im depicting (at least try to) is the earlier one that was used during "Zitadelle".

Ebbe,
thanks a lot!
As you might know, I share your thoughts about DMLs Tigers. While they are amazingly nice, the price is always a bit of a letdown when we still got the nice Tamiya kits, which go away pretty cheaply.

Johannes,
Im always good in surprises, eh?
To be honest, Im planning to build no more than three or four tigers, which really caught my attention . The reason for this one is simply that I was never pleased with my first try and S33 is just too cool looking to not build it

Rick,
thanks my friend,
I hope I can stand the high expectations .
You will definitely get some E-Mails when I get around to paint this beast, if you dont mind...

Again, thanks a lot friends, I will post some pics later today. We laid some floor heating today, while we had 32C, so Im a bit tired at the moment.
