Jagdpanzer VI A/0

Hi all!

It's been a while since i posted here something, so here it go's.

It's dragon's Jagdpanzer VI A/0 with Voyager PE, fruil tracks and tristar suspension. I had a few fit problems with the dragon kit but it worked out allright........almost...

The kit is almost finished, only need to add the schurzen but i can't solder these . I've soldered the whole voyager PE but the dragon schurzen won'work. I think i'll make them from evergreen.

Annyway, this project stands to a halt deu to the warm weather here. My airbrush stand is in the attic and with this weather i'm using more sweat than paint.

The pictures:

Regarsd,

Richard

Looking good, Richard!

What's the trouble with the schurzen etch? I've had trouble soldering Eduard etch due because of the metal they use. The solder just wouldn't stick, somehow. Can't recollect if I've ever soldered any from Dragon.

Great indeed!
Voyager makes really good items, just a pity I'm not experienced enough and don't have tools to use them!

very cool looking! I can't wait to see it in paint.

I've tried to solder DML PE and nothing doing... must be the metal formula they use. I've had problems with eduard stuff too.

Hello guys.

Have you tried sanding the area that you are going to solder?
If you have sanded it and still can't solder the parts try applying a little soldering paste to the joint before the solder.

The Eduard PE has some type of varnish applied, if you hold it over heat for a second it will burn it away and then you'll be able to get the solder to bite.

yeah, I've tried that. With the eduard, it works somwhat but I can't get the DML to solder, period. I've tried heat, fiberglass pen, steelwool, etc. too bad

Try sanding it on a piece of flat sandpaper while still in sheet form so the finish is gone, it should solder then, and don't forget the flux.

yep, I always use good ol' flux

I'll try that sanding tip next time I solder DML PE.
