My 1st of 2 Sd.Kfz. 182 Königtiger.

This is the first KT I’ve decided to present on a forum for sometime now... there will be two, however whether I put the second one up is undecided.

The First will be comprised of an SS Tiger II, I was hoping to put it within the time frame of France, 1944 but having no Zimmerit throws that suggestion out or Ardennes time frame?... No. Perhaps early spring 45' without any late war modulation effects," Add on armor of any kind." Most likely of an unknown unit at the end of the war. Camouflage will be late war but more of my own making no historical background on this tank particularly. The second KT to come will have zimmerit and based on the 506th Heavy Tank Battalion relieving Arnhem. Also a Henschel type version will be used.

I had initially started this kit back in 2010, I believe. Building it up slowly… This kit will and is pretty much all OOB with little upgrades of evergreen plastic... photo-etch from Dragon but barrel is from RB Model and Anti-Grenade mesh from Alliance models Works. Not sure if I want to upgrade the tracks just yet.

Overall it needs a little more primer and some missing parts to be added. Like I said I didn’t go all out with this kit but judging from how it looks in primer I think it will look good. Figures are from Alpine, heads in all... great figures and will continue to support Mr.Taesung H.

The guard to the drivers optics is backwards I know... I will surely fix it before I commence painting.

Any and all comments welcome.

Looking good Eric,

This is one of my favorite tanks of all times ... Also it was the first armor model I ever build. Can't wait to see some paint on this one.

Nice and clean build ! About history: current look and "setup" lets place this tanks production date to October 1944. But as You mentioned, historical background is not relevant on this build
