Mirage Renault UE w Trailer

Yes, I know it's a Mirage kit, so let's scratch build.

This is a first for me, so let me start with saying hello to everybody here on planetArmor, and being this is my first post on any forum please be patient.

This is the victim

First I glued the basic box, sorry no picks (I didn't know that I would be posting) so I made the diagrams so you can follow...

I left out the kit parts indicated in white

And with some scratch building, using plastic card stock and aluminum Coke cans, here you can see the results.

Rolling

Ok, so now I have the running gear on the trailer done and partially on the UE tractor itself.

Again, I have left out some of the original model parts (indicated in white) and did them in plastic and wire.

This is the build in progress, although it has been completed.

Here is the sub assembly on the UE tractor...

The thin plastic sheets do it justice.

Nice work, I'd be happy if I could do art work like you . I like your fine detail work (like the trailer track tensioning), shows real skill .

very nice work, though I have always wondered why they put tracks on a towed vehicle.

First of all, congratulations; you have your Vbench now!

That scratch building of your is really something amazing. That renault will look better than the Tamiya one for sure.

Thank you Coops, the art work is really the instruction sheet of the model scanned and doctored up with Photoshop, and don't tell anybody... the detail work is "eyeballed"

Hello Moon Puppy, thank you... I suppose so that the trailer won't get bogged down in muddy terrain, although there are photos of the trailer without the treads.

Sub assemblies

Okay so now I have the trailer primed and waiting for some correction work and touchups

Here are some shots of work done on the UE tractor's interior before I started to post here on the forum, it's waiting for the, Ford Model A, motor.

Oh about the motor, I started putting some small details on the block and oil pan, again these will be "eyeballed" being that they will be hardly visible...
anyway till next year.

Carlos,

Nice to finally see your work here. Like always outstanding scratchbuilding. I am looking forward to see some paint on this little fellow.
