Tamiya Panzer II released at 47th Shizuoka Hobby Show 2008

http://www.sembado.com/photo/47th_SHS/index.html

Thx vm cool info James
Boy boy boy, happy to see new Pz.II from Tamiya. Defenately a buy as it was quite populair one during Polish Campaign '39 and especially Ausf.C
Only one thing might be wrong with the kit or with the name of (the be axact) Ausf.A-C? I am not an expert in terms of Pz.II but I think Ausf.A had a tottaly different suspension and road wheels so the one shown at the box art is Ausf.C
Correct me if I am wrong in that matter.
And seems we have new Pz.IV Ausf.E as weel. Is that Tauchpanzer from what I see at the picture?

And here is how Ausf.A road wheels and suspension looked like

And some other suspension here no idea which Ausf is that?

Chris

PS. Sorry for hijacking your thread James. Hope these will be helpful for someone here.

(Hi Krzysztof, I thought this post about Tamiya's Panzer II deserved a thread of it's own, hope you don't mind. Did you see the old Man will be stepping down from Tamiya as of June 1st?)

Chris

The Ausf a and Ausf b had the six small road wheels with the support rails

The Ausf c, Ausf A, Ausf B and Ausf C had 5 of the larger 550mm roadwheels.

These two are Ausf b (small b). You can differentiate from an Ausf a by the sprockets.

And this is an Ausf D/E

These are probably Ausf A-B

Chris
I had a post on this thread when it was part of the T-34 thread and some how it disappeared. Anyhow these are probably Ausf A and B (at least the ones where you can see the drivers visor) due to the front driver visor being the later type not seen on the Ausf c. The Panzer II Ausf can be a bit confusing but basically they go like this Ausf a1, a2, a3, b, c, A, B, C, D, E, and L. The a1 through c were preproduction versions (although the c was produced in substantial numbers). The c through C initially were very similar externally. The A - C had some armor upgrades made to them and the C was also fitted later with the commanders cupola. Also I have pics of the later conical idler wheels (introduced on the Ausf F) on an Ausf C. Great pics.
