Trumpeter - Sd.Kfz. 7 New Tool June 2008 US release!


Kit # 1514

1/35 German Sdkfz.7 8-Ton Halftrack, Early Version NEWLY TOOLED!
MSRP $ 64.95

Used by the German Army in WWII, the vehicle first appeared in 1938 and was designed to be used mainly as the tractor for the 8.8 cm Flak gun and the 15 cm sFH 18 150mm howitzer. It could carry gun crews of up to 12 men, and the rear of the vehicle was an enclosed compartment for storage of ammunition. The tractor could tow loads up to 17,600 lb in weight. Most were fitted with a winch. Kit consists of 848 parts on 17 sprues. Features: New tooled slide-molded one-piece mudguard, both sides panels and top panel of the engine hood can be open to show the full detailed engine, the front radiator grill tooled in fine detail, the windscreen can be assembled open or closed, upper and lower foot-board are made from photo-etched parts w/non-slip pattern, headlight w/clear shade, sprocket wheels w/ multiple delicate parts, operable front suspension and steering, the road wheels have excellent detail with differing patterns on the inside and outside wheels. Interior details include a row of rifle clips behind the front seat, fully detailed engine, accurately designed transmission, the gearbox is slide molded w/authentic detail, seat and canvas details, tool box w/interior detail, 3 rubber tires with excellent tread pattern, 384 individual track links in light grey plastic on 8 sprues, & a winch. Photo-etch parts included for footboard.

SUDDENLY FOR SALE

Half-finished Tamiya SdKfz 7 with Eduard Detail set. Lockers and tool drawers open and half finished. Just needs replaced bolt/rivet detail, tires, engine, new doors for lockers and tool drawer area, accurate sprockets, etc...

Angry I was just packaging up the Tamiya for EBay selling

Again procrastination (or "aging" if you are a wine drinker) fails me!!!

Seriously - this is terrific news... I hope it meets the critic's eye well. Let's see what kind of mad dash it creates from the competion...
