Dragon Kingtiger with zimmerit (finally)!

On PMMS there is the news with some photos that DML finally come out with a zimmerit coated Kingtiger OOB. Am I a fortune teller if I say that I am visioning a new line of Panthers, Tigers, Stugs in the future?

Kingtiger w/zimmerit

Fortuneteller? no but let's see the quality of it first. When will it be released?

I don't know, I haven't found any info yet (just the same news at Armorama). I think that the first issues will come out in SmartKit form, for those ones who would not (or can not) make zimmerit on their own.

It will prove a hit or miss when it will be released. they have to get the engineering 100% right on this one.

I myself would still like a ''clean hulled'' kit, as making zimmerit is easy to me and it enables to add some character to the model.

I hope they will not revisit their line of kits as there are so many cool vehicles waiting to be done.

It would be interesting to see your opinions...

I think is is a great idea, Im worried on how its molded on the spure and removing it with destorying the zimmerit finish.I know this will take aLOT of crap from the really serious modelers but personally I have made zimmerit a few times with ok results ,and I also find myself wasting money on the cavailer sets were most of the hard resin pieces dont even fit and with the same pre-damaged spots. But in the end Iam very excited for this and I will buy two of these because of I love the king tiger so much.

I will buy one as soon as it is out in the shops
I hate making zimmerit (although i have done it a few times) so for me this is a nice move from DML. If it is as good as the 1/72 jagdtiger it will be a sure hit

Hmmm...I think it's a brave move by DML and I applaud them for trying to be different. Personally though I would want to have a look at it with my own eyes before deciding.

I think this will be the big factor when this kit comes out.I hope they are smart to see this problem.I have built dragon's king tiger(s) many times now. And on that hull and turret there are a lot of cut points on the spure. That is what scares me about this kit already.

Anyway lets hope this could mean a new jagdpanther early or smart panther G early.Just like the smart kits, I think this is going to be a huge hit, and well for me at least
