G'Day Fletch,
A hole I fell into was gluing both C12 (bar over the top of the gun in stage 8) and E13 (firewall in stage 15) to the superstructure. I did this so that I could paint the whole AFV later but I couldn't fit the gun through the hole!! Tom Cockle has built his without without glue the C12 on and I've since seen that the real Mac Coy's also removed C12 to extract the gun.
Just some babble from me that may save you needing to cut the slide plate and shell catcher frame off your beautifully painted gun (I could have killed myself or the kit for being so stupid!!).

Ed

I got my copy from RZM Imports (rzm.com). It was out of stock and took several weeks to get a copy when I ordered. But they might have some at the moment. HLJ might have some too. Or greatmodels. Oh yeah, if you like tristar stuff, RZM has some nice deals at the moment.

Achtung Panzer is a must if you are going to build Stugs. The text is in Japanese only but the drawing and photo captions are bilingual.

Another book to consider is Ryton's book on the Stug. Pricey but the photos are large and printed on high quality paper. Has many photos of the interior and detail close-ups of the exterior as well.

For wartime photos, check out Trojca's latest publication, Stug III-IV at War. Photos are not as clear as those found in Japanese publications but are still good and many have never been published before.

I saw the review of the Trojca book over at armorama and it looked pretty good. I might have to pick that one up.

So, does anyone have suggestions for interesting schemes for this one? I'd like to do an Ostfront panzer.

Fletcher ,

I was just archiving all my Panzer pics on the HD, and I saw that I had numerous amounts of stug pics. I'll check and see what I got!
