Good to see another model coming out. I like this vehicle and will try to get this kit IF it ever reaches shops around here.

I really like the box art. Very well done.

Thanks everyone who took the time to give me a pat on the back-
This is really great- something I've been hopin' to do for awhile. And yes Larry it was a crazy short dealine!... basically two weekends and then the evenings to get 'er done. It's by no means perfect but I think as I go along the technique should get smoothed out...

James,

did you airbrush part of it and then use corel or something similar to finish it up?

Oh sorry I should have answered the other question about paint... I used gouache on some cold press art board- I would have liked to use hot press cause it's smoother but it's all I had and NO time even to spare to go shopping if I was going to get it done on time. The paint is called Jo Sonja's.

You could even use it to do some subtle tri colour German cammo if you like... on a model. I was using a pretty small brush for most of it, I think it had five hairs in it. I have since bought more art board and better brushes  .I only used the airbrush on the background to lay-in the initial desert floor colour and the sky. Everything else was done with a brush... except the little dust cloud -that was done at the very end with the tank frisketed off and then the airbrush was employed again. Man -it's always soooo stressful

There was a few changes that I had to make using Photoshop after the first revue by Dragon.Nothing major. I am contemplating doing a painting strictly with Photoshop... but I really like the technique of using traditional painting techniques on the original artwork and then scanning it at 300 dpi. After you can then manipulate the image to sweeten it even more. Some people may consider that cheating but the fact is it's just another tool. I first did it when I did animation Backgrounds for a show called CAtDog. Those were painted on watercolour paper with a kinda water colour dye called Dr. Martin's. This was scanned and tweaked out. I reall y would like to get a copy of Fractal Painter (I guess Corel bought it thjough right?)I have checked out on that software once long time ago and it is amazing- you can basically do any traditional technique with it.

James

Nice artwork We have a number of artists on this site and I am always amazed by the work you guys put out.

By the way, Have you ever tried using gouache on models? I bought a bunch of Acryl Gouache (Windsor Newton, I think) but don't know how to use them.

I haven't myself but I have read an article or two were someone has. I'm certain it can be a useful option. I have been contemplating employing the technique on a future model... should I ever actually find time enough to do any modelling again...ha ha. As for learning to use them- take a night course. Maybe you'll meet a girl and give up all this nerdy modelling... ha ha
