The format isn't as big as I would have hoped, but the photo reproduction is great and is printed on glossy paper. Both the text and photo captions are fully bilingual (French and English). The book is divided into a historical section recounting the development of the vehicle and showing some nice in-service shots (of course, none of the captured and modified versions that have been discussed here). What follows is then a very extensive walk-around of the vehicle at Saumur(sp?). As I am stuck with the RPM kit, this will be quite valuable for adding detail. There are also many interior shots and several photos of the UE engine and the small trailer that it towed. As a bonus, there are enough photos of the trailer on which the UE was transported that one who is more talented than I could make a nice scratch build (and incorporate the UE with some other large soft-skin which is moving it to the front). Though I can't vouch for the correctness of the historical section (though I also have absolutely no reason to doubt its validity), I think that book is an exceptional resource and is well worth the money.

Dave

I'm also interested to hear your review of the book.

You probably have already seen that Terry has beaten me to the punch:

Since I can't hope to top this review, I think that I'll be content with providing this pointer. It goes without saying that if you have any particular questions about anything in the book, I will happily answer them to the best of my abilities.

If there is still interest in such things, I just thought that I would point out that Frank De Sisto has also reviewed this little book. You can find Mr. De Sisto's review here:

http://www.network54.com/Forum/47732...%2C+Renault+UE

He summarizes his review: "This is a timely, well-produced and excellently-priced reference aimed (or “focused”, if you will allow) directly at modelers. If building the Tamiya (or the old Mirage) kit, this will be indispensable. "

I couldn't agree more.
