Torben, Marc... thanks for your kind comments.

It was some decision to apply zimm on this cat as a first-time enterprise.. and an even bigger decision to pull off the first coat..

This would normally also be the time where my wife would begin saying "hey, it's only a hobby... it's not really that important!" Little does she know...

Anyway, I finished the tracks (oh boy, did that take time..), and then started on the chassis (oh boy, a lot of wheels on this cat)... photos of dry-fitting one finished track on the wheels. Tracks are looking good, I think: like the sag.

All for now, many regards

J

Are those wheels glued in place? How're you going to paint all that?

Thanks Kuklinski and Armor Fiend...

And to get back finally in reponse to an old question: no - wheels were dryfitted in previous pictures.

But guess what this old cat dragged in: ITSELF... Finally got around to a base coat of Vallejo Surface Primer RAL 8012: love that stuff - goes directly into the ol' Badger and on to the model in a nice dark red coat.

I had to put on the Voyager PE, which is good quality, I think. Better than the Dragon PE that comes with the cat. It took forever to dig out room in the zimm for the little hooks that carry the track cable.... I'm telling you... FOREVER...

Tried to render some blast damage on the right side hull and fenders from the large round impact on the 80 mm side armour. Sure chipped some zimm away too. Also some damage to fenders here and there.

Apologies for the bad quality pictures: need some sun for better pics. Will update.

Many regards

Holy moly, this lazy old cat made its way in the abundant autumn sun too...

I bent some more brass: a little dent here and there to the fenders will make it look less factory fresh.

Thanks Tony...

And thanks especially on hints given on track painting on your cool Russian SPG. Gotta look around for that stuff you mentioned...

All the best

You can get it on line but I found some right here in town at a small shop that caters to stain glass people.

And you are so welcome, helping others when I can is my middle name

Hi all

Well, some progress today: this ol' cat had a little edgy highlighting and a LOT of wheels primed...

Regards

And now a sandy Tiger... All the wheels got a coat of Vallejo 914 Dunkelgelb too.

Thinking about camouflage: will probably attempt some kind of messy mix of Dunkelgrün und Dunkelrot with little, slim, faded dots and stripes. Need some practice with my Iwata Eclipse, though.

Regards

Jokka
