"Smoke Can Kill" (Hetzer Vignette Done)

Hi Friends,

I post some pictures with the vignette done.

The general volume was made with "cat sand", the bricks, tiles and the pool are by Toro Models, the beam are build with Evergreen strips.

The figure is an Alpine conversion: http://www.panzermodelling.com/foros/viewtopic.php?t=22

I hope you like it.

Hi Joaquin,

this is one of the best dios/vignettes that I've seen for a long time. Top figure and painting. And the pun about "dangerous smoking" is really great.

I've just read recently that the Nazis were the first to start investigations on the dangers of smoking. They wanted to forbid it because they realized that it was a thread to the people's health and would result in the oposite to perfect "Germanic body" they were dreaming about. But when the war started those plans were delayed. I don't know if you had this in mind when planning your dio, but with that background the idea of your dio is even more interesting.

Greets,
Luki

Joaquin,

I know I'm repeating myself but this is great stuff. Great vehicle, good size base, super groundwork, top figure, great scene overall.

Best,

Robert

I always enjoy your work! I really like the inclusion of the spool, it really helps balance the scene and gives a nice visual interest.

The figure is top-notch, and the Hetzer looks great.

Beautiful diorama with great composition and balance. The Hetzer looks like it belongs on the slope and didn't just appear there. Adding the converted figure was a masterstroke.

As for the Nazis performing smoking research, there are various tales of Hitler banning smoking in public places, which is often given as the reason why German's are now staunch smokers (lame). Also Himmler was supposedly a fervent anti smoker, yet photos exist of him smoking cigars.

Back on topic, did you use the kit tracks or aftermarket?

MfG
