StuG III Ausf. F/8 - Alkett September ´42 production

Howdy Planeteers,
after some wanker (sorry) hacked the board, it seems like my last post went the way of the Dodo.
Let´s start it again...
It´s been a while since my last post here, but real life is taking it´s toll, which means not much time for modelling . But whenever I have a few minutes left, I still work on some old and new stuff and every now and then I manage to finish something .

Anyways, some of you might have seen this one elsewhere, so I hope it doesn´t bore you to read and see it again .
It´s DML´s StuG III Ausf. F/8 SmartKit and like all of their Pz.III and Pz.IV based kits, it´s a charm.

Besides the base kit I used the following goodies:
Tracks - Friul,
Barrel - RB,
Aerials - Modellbauwelt Bliestal,
StuG III Detail parts - Modellkasten,
Wingnuts - Bronco,
Tow cables and ammoshells - Eureka,
Screw heads around Gun collar - Lion Roar (they might be a bit overscale but look better than the molded ones),
Jerry cans - Tasca for the german ones, Model Victoria for the italian,
Ammo box - Tamiya,
Figure - Doug´s,
Tool clamps - ABER

Quite early I decided to depict it as a vehicle of the "Hermann Göring" Division in Italy. Partly because of the figure, but mainly because it offered a chance to depict it in the second version of the tropical scheme: "Spezialanstrich für Afrika", a scheme you see very rarely and so it was the perfect chance for me.
As some of you might know, Peter Müller and Wolfgang Zimmermann from History Facts are very good friends of mine and after a longer phonecall with Wolfgang because of the colours, I came to the conclusion you´ll see later .
For the base colour I used a mixture from:
Tamiya Dark Yellow, Dessert Yellow, Skin, White and Gloss,
for the camo I used:
Tamiya Dessert Yellow, Khaki, Khaki Drab, Skin and Gloss.
Since the barrels of several "HG"-vehicles appear quite dark on the pics I sprayed mine with Grey.
The colours are still very bright, but since I tend to darken my stuff quite a bit during weathering, I had to lighten them that much.

And here´s the kit I plan to finish after the StuG, but there´s still some work to be done.
It´s the older DML kit with some Aftermarket goodies. More on this one in my next blog .

Hope you like it so far!
Comments and critics more than welcome!

Beautiful work. I agree with KuKŁiNsKi - super clean paint work. Very crisp, as is your build.

Do you mix-in clear acrylic so you can put your washes right over the paint or is a matter of managing the reflectance?

I know I'm repeating myself, but your paintjobs are always stunning. So smooth and well done... awesome.

Sorry for not calling you as promised like two or three weeks ago. Too much work in the last time. Maybe I'll have an opportunity on Sunday, if you're available.

Misses modelling.

Markus. It appears that all of the Planeteers are coming into alignment. It's very good to see a new posting here from you. I saw your StuG a little while back on ??? but didn't get the chance to comment - stellar work my friend.

Looking forward to your continuing posts.
