Feldherrnhalle Panzer IV H in Narva theatre

Hi,

I'd like to build Feldherrnhalle Panzer IV, used on march 1944 in Narva theatre. there are not much reference about these. somewhat i know, these were Panzer IV H and only picture about this event is here:

so there are bunch of questions that will remain..

Panzer seems to be in whitewash camo (?), unit markings (black shield, red insignia)left out from wash.
Zimmerit? fenders seem to have zimmerit coating, schürtzen definetly not. what about turret ? gun mask? front armor?

ANY information and guidance please...
Thanks a lot in advance...

Hi.
Look at the side schürzen and the transmission.
This is one early Pz IV H.
I take it Dragon has a new kit out these days which would suit you perfectly ...
It seems to have the regular Zimmerit on the front plate, turret front and hull rear. Maybe the lower hull sides too but this we'll never know.
They usually do not have Zimmerit under the spare track links, on the glacis, and often the front plate.

edited to add : about the new Dragon kit ... apparently the Schürzen are not of the early type you need ... you want an earlyer version.
Unfortunately the closest i know is this one :

Which is wrong because it is a G. wrong transmission, wrong turret roof etc ...
Feel like mixing up the kits ?

thanks Laurent,

i have in my disposal this kit:

it shares multiple parts with other kits, e.g. there are two sets of idler wheels, two sets of return rollers, etc. is it possible to use this kit ?

Sorry, no, unless you do not think historic accuracy (which you have the right to of course). This "late H" does have the post december 43 hull sides "extensions" and the matching lower rear hull not to mention other subtle variations such as the modified driver/radio bullet guards, new Schürzen brackets, lack of firzbagfilter other hub caps etc ...

edited to add : the Pz iV on the pic you posted definitely has the bolted 50 + 30 driver/radio front plate :

such as this one :

This is a pre-june 43 detail. And it also has the matching front plate :

PS : the Tamiya kit is a good solution as their Pz IV H is an early one. Some PE parts, FRIUL tracks (or modelkasten) and there you go !
