making of Tiger(P)

I made this Tiger(P) in the year before last. And now I’m showing this photo albums in my weblog, but I decided to also show these in PA by the advice of you.
I made this as No,003 (only one actual fighting deployment type of Schwere panzerjäger Abteilung 653) I spent about 1 year for making this,(Because an exclusive PE parts was not released) and there are many photos of progress. So I will introduce this progress for several times.

These points are revised in a premium edition, but these processes are necessary for making original edition.

The position of vision port's slit of DML's kit is necessary to lower 2mm as shown in TigerⅠinfo.
I use unnecessary parts (E-15)

I add Escape Hatch at the right of turret. So the part is converted from TAMIYA 's TigerⅠ early version, I made a hole according to part of TAMIYA.

also put Pilze on turret according to Tiger Ⅰ info.

Next I introduce how to make the basket attached to cupola. So exact size is unknown, it makes from the size of a kit. I prepared brass pipes(diameter 6mm and 4mm)and 0.5mm brass line as materials

At the first, Cut a brass pipe in length 0.5mm. Better method is not turning a pipe cutter, but turning a pipe.

Attaching taper to wood stick, and lightly carving slots so that a brass line may not shift. So eight brass lines will be attached. It is not necessary to measure positions of brass lines. After attaching four brass lines, you should just attach the remainder in the middle of attached brass lines.

I was going to use kit part first. But because it is easy construction, I decided to make the support of Gepäk Kasten by myself.
Main part is made by 0.3mm brass plate, and channel part made by 2×2mm cutted square brass pipe.

Rack of spare tracks is made by 0.3mm copper plate .So that a copper plate tends to express a curve rather than brass plate. Even if you don't mistake the turn of cut out, It is easy to make this part.

Thank you! I follow still more

Cupola’s hatch is larger than general Tiger 1. So, I made from 0.2mm brass plate.

I made hinge from 0.1mm brass plate and filled with solder.

Watanabe-san

Incredible I like the weld seams very much.

How do you make the hole in the hatch so perfect?

Thanks, everyone! This vBench will continue still more and more・・・but before following・・・

>How do you make the hole in the hatch so perfect?
I use reamer for big hole like these ↓

Then let's begin a continuance! Referring to Tiger 1 info, I made support for scissors scope.

Installation position is little different from general Tiger 1.

I have adjust it will be located at the center of the hole of hatch.

This is ・・・cord of spark plugs of smoke grenades

Next are makings of hatches on engine room. Parts are cut out from 0.3mm brass plate and φ0.7mm brass line.
The foot of the handrail is adjusted to length with accurate only one. After inserting the unadjusted foot in the hole that made on the hatch, fixing with solder.

Next I made omitted coolant pouring hatches. The hatch parts were cut out from 0.5mm brass plate . Size of the part applied to Elephant, Φ4.5mm..

I used nipper for cutting out

All parts were prepared. Brass pipes are parts to make injection.

I installed all parts. Effects are almost satisfied.
